Molly McKee-Seabrook is a third generation Prince Georgian and dedicated public servant running for Delegate in District 22.

A mother of three, she knows firsthand the challenges working families face, and as a lifelong Democrat she’s spent her career working in Maryland state policy meeting these issues head-on. Molly is uniquely suited for leadership in this moment, combining her lived experience with passion and policy for Marylanders.

Molly and her husband are proud parents of Prince George’s County Public School students and are raising their children in Hyattsville, where Molly grew up.

Molly learned the importance of hard work and the impact of government policies from her strong union family. Her father, grandfather, uncles, and aunt were union members of the Plumbers & Gasfitters Union Local 5, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 26, and Prince George’s County Education Association.
At an early age, Molly learned how beneficial unions are for working families’ lives and wellbeing. Family discussions often centered around current events, politics and the importance of family-centered public policy. Molly’s first job out of college was working for the Teamsters’ Election Supervisor, where she helped to ensure their members had a fair vote for union leadership.

After attending Elizabeth Seton High School in Bladensburg, Molly went on to graduate from St. Mary’s College of Maryland, one of our state’s oldest public institutions of higher education. She and her parents relied on local scholarships as well as federally subsidized and unsubsidized loans to help her become a first-generation college graduate. She understands the importance of keeping college affordable for working families, and continues to support access to public higher education through her work at the University of Maryland.
As Chief of Staff to Senator Bill Ferguson, she played a key role in advancing agendas in parental leave, Pre-K expansion, and K-12 education policy. One of her proudest accomplishments was helping to shepherd legislation to create paid parental leave for state employees. The year after the policy went into effect, a state employee shared that when their baby required two surgeries and an extended hospital stay, the new law ensured that they could stay by their child’s side without financial fear, underscoring the practical, life-changing impact that such efforts can make. Molly believes Maryland must continue that momentum by fully implementing the Time to Care Act to guarantee comprehensive paid leave for families and caregivers statewide. Molly believes the state needs to prioritize finding ways to help solve the childcare crisis, implement universal Pre-K, invest in aftercare programs, and ensure each child receives a high quality education regardless of their zip code.

In 2019, Molly served on then incoming County Executive Angela Alsobrooks’ transition team on the Health and Human Services Committee where she focused on access to reproductive healthcare in the county and pushed for a comprehensive strategy to improve maternal and child health outcomes. Although Prince George’s County has made strides in this area, the maternal and infant mortality rates in the county continue to exceed neighboring counties, particularly for families of color. Improving access to, and quality of, reproductive healthcare in the county for all women, regardless of race, continues to be a priority for Molly.
Through her work in government relations at the University of Maryland, Molly has helped secure millions of dollars of state investment in public higher education, need-based financial aid, and our local economy. She works to ensure our state’s flagship institution continues to thrive and she supports its mission through large and small initiatives. One that Molly cares deeply about is the state funding for Sustainable Maryland, a program based at the University of Maryland that helps communities implement sustainability efforts across the state. Sustainable Maryland has worked with municipalities throughout Prince George’s County, including many in the 22nd District, to create “green teams” to make our neighborhoods more environmentally friendly. Molly strongly believes it is our responsibility to leave behind a healthy environment for future generations and that the threat of climate change is dire. She thinks it is incredibly important that Maryland take meaningful steps to reach its climate goals, which will require a multitude of small and large actions and investments at the local and state level.

For over 14 years Molly has worked in Annapolis to secure critical wins for families and she will continue that fight as Delegate. At a time when division and performative politics dominate national headlines, Molly believes in leadership grounded in empathy, compassion, and social justice. Anyone who knows Molly can attest that when presented with a challenge, she takes it on as her own, tirelessly working toward solutions that respect and elevate human dignity. She is committed to demonstrating that thoughtful governance and practical policy-making can deliver meaningful change, fostering a more inclusive, equitable, and supportive Maryland for every family.
